About the Author
Dr. Chin holds a M.D. from Far Eastern University in the Philippines and a Doctor of Oriental Medicine from the California Acupuncture College and the Chinese Center in Hong Kong. He is a master of several martial arts, including; T'ai Chi Ch'uan, Jow Ga and Pak Mei Kung Fu. Hi is the founder and director of the Q.M. Institute, one of the first clinics in New York to combine Eastern and Western medical practice.

A well-rounded and pragmatic introduction to Qi Kung.

Dr. Chin takes us from the Big Bang and relativity, through Prana and Qi to practical day-to-day applications of some of the most complex ideas known to mankind, and has managed to do so in one succinct and eminently readable text. His approach is as practical as it is theoretical, using broad sweeping strokes to set up the foundation of this elusive subject and its relationship to the reader, citing source and using imagery, defining terrain, citing example and case history, and finally explaining and illustrating actions to take to create change in the reader’s daily life.
Knowing the good doctor and having been involved in both martial art and Eastern medicine for over 40 years, I would recommend this as an excellent introduction and usable source to anyone seeking information on Qi Kung.

Definitely a keeper!

As a new budding TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) student and just someone interested in living a more balanced life, Dr. Chin’s The Power of Qi Kung: Maximum Energy for Life has been a great primer for me. So much that I often pull up this (kindle)book when I’m trying to explain this area of practice I’m studying to family and friends without complicated or esoteric jargon that Dr. Chin has thankfully done away with for the layperson and masterfully broken down in simple terms while making it at once an entertaining and casual read that is also a solid and practical overview of Eastern medicine. Ultimately I feel the purpose of this book is to empower people to take control of their own health and well being without any gimmicks or sensationalism…just good old sound knowlege (meditation, exercise, eating right, sleeping enough) put in today's language.
